Ok people review time!!!! and I must say this game seemed like an upset 30mins in. It was all kicking, screaming ad fouling going. Thankfully Yaya was on the field to really calm things down. Now every1 who watched the match picture instead of Yaya starting Busquets did, it would've been bloody out there is what comes to mind.
Guardiola continued to rotate a few players that he 'seemed tired from Wed. game.He rolled out Valdés; Alves, Puyol, Chygrynski, Abidal; Xavi, Toure, Keita; Pedro, Messi y Henry(a lineup that I thought had get the job done all over it). Piqué was rested for Chygrynskiy; Busquets rested for Touré and Pedro entered for the 'injured' Ibrahimovic. He changed some names, but not the philosophy of getting the job done by hook or by crook.
We started the game with Henry being the '9 'although there was speculation that Messi could play the false '9'. From the first moment we saw a very aggressive Malaga, putting pressure on our players around the field and not hesitating to be tough whenever needed, of course, with the permissiveness of referee Delgado Ferreiro.
The first 15 minutes were a little nightmare for Barca, who could not find its place on the pitch - (certainly it was the horrible Malaga lawn) - and the players looked like they were expecting Malaga to kick them on every play. In the 7th minute the hosts had the best chance of the entire first half, when Obinha went 1v1 with Chygrynskiy but ran out of angle and fired into the side of the goal.
From the 15th minute, Malaga started to lose gas and we began to feel more comfortable. The first approach was a Henry shot cleared by their goalkeeper Munúa. I believe it was here Henry got injured and was replaced nearly 15 minutes later by Ibrahimovic. I noticed the change immediately. But In the37min he 'failed to utilizes a great pass from Pedro, his shot was poor and the goalkeeper was able to deflect the ball.
Ibrahimovic spared them in his first chance on goal but not his second. This time it was Messi who gave him a good pass and the striker finished off. It was 0-1 and the first sign of the three poles. A beautiful goal that came from individual brilliance but still an advantage to go into halftime with.
After the break, the game was more physical than ever. Malaga were tackling hard and things often threatened to turn ugly, but Barça didn’t let it get to them and maintained an impeccable attitude. And just when the game needed some footballing brilliance, Piqué, who had just come on for the also injured Chygrynskiy(who will be out for 3 weeks with a knee problem), struck home a terrific 58th minute strike from an inch-perfect free kick from Xavi.
We now found it easy to produce combination football in midfield, and Malaga defended as best as they could – which rather too often simply meant dealing out fouls. Luque saw red for a an unpleasant challenge, while Messi reminded everybody how football should be played, with some brilliant play in the dying minutes, but he let himself down with some poor finishing. He and Weligton were locked in a duel from the first minute, but the Argentinian was the clear winner of that individual contest.
So, with three more points in the bag, we can return from La Rosaleda after showing that we can do well whatever the state of the pitch.(although last year we won 4-1 and the pitch was much wore)

Video Highlights
A solid performance again from Barca. does anyone notice our last few matches seem like an exhibition of our capacity as a team. somehow i just feel this season will be as successful as the last. VIVA BARCA, VIVA GUARDIOLA (Whats up with Henry, hope he gets into that menacing form again, soon)
ReplyDeleteMalaga played an awful, dirty match. Weligton should have been sent off about three times in this one match. I hope the officials review the tape for this one - since Weligton should receive at least a 2-3 match ban for his obviously intentional stamp on Messi and punch on Pique. I love how Pique scored and Messi made a fool out of Weligton. BTW Luque's tackle was probably a yellow not a red - horrible referee.
ReplyDeleteEven if my Barcelona won, I am freaking inconsolable about this game. First of all, the ref. Barca didn't get 2 legitimate hacks in the box called for penalties and Delgado was simply TERRIBLE at managing the game. I almost barfed watching that game. Secondly, Weligton. What was he thinking?!!?! Deliberately stepping on Messi's groin and Ibra, AND punching Pique in the face with a vicious right hook? I cannot BELIEVE he didn't get ejected. He could have seriously injured 3 star players today!
ReplyDeletewhere are all the Ibra haters now? 5 goals in 5 games! opened the scoring for Barca 4 out of 5 times!
ReplyDeletei was worried when there were no goals after 30 mins but good thing Zlatan went in. Hopefully Iniesta plays on Wednesday i was surprised not to see him there. Bisca Barca!!
ReplyDeletewe need a left wing robinho, silva or aguero... even fabregas can be good .. fabregas will play in midfield and iniesta left wing .. cuz henry is 32 years old and he can't play 90 min .. plus it seems he will face alot of injuries from now on :S i really like henry but he is too old now for barca :S ... in january robinho will be our best choice he can play in champions league too.. FORCABARCA =)
ReplyDeleteYea i agree Pedro is not a starter i am sorry, we have to get a left winger, suarez sounds nice, although i love the youth policy, but reality is you have to choose the rght players to win a match, pedro's role in barca is just to add depth thats all. Jeffren is dissapointing too.
ReplyDeleteHow come u don't do player ratings anymore???i was looking forward to see what u gave Ibra and Pique since they came on and scored
ReplyDeleteVermonelen and pique are defends who are scoring for the hell of it...I never saw defenders like them b4!!!
ReplyDeletewell good game but its looks like there is no competition in la liga its look its going to be a two horse race between barca and real and people say la liga is better than primer league............
ReplyDeleteWell since there isn't any ratings.Mines are valdes;6- alves;7-puyol;8-dmytro;6.5-abidal;8-yaya;7-xavi;8-keita;8.5(u never see him but he does alot)-messi;8(whenever about to shoot...FOULED)- henry;NA-pedro;6.5-ibra;8.5(starting to help in defense, couldve assisted but no one opens up to him)-pique;8
ReplyDeleteHAHA Barca looser!!! Just did 2 goals on Malaga???!!! Real Madrid is on the top on the table!!! REAL MADRID RULES!!! and all the titles is our this year!!!! HALA MADRID!!! HALA MADRID!!!
ReplyDeleteThose Malaga players are so dirty. Only way to stop Messi is to stomp on him and the only way to stop more future Messi's from giving defenders nightmares is to step on where the sun don't shine. Thats just below the belt.
